COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.

IoT & Robotics Rwanda is a safe, constructive, and inspiring environment for builders at all stages of their journey. Here is how we build together.

1. Our Core Values

Our central purpose is to make it easier for people in Rwanda to learn, build, collaborate, and participate in IoT, embedded systems, electronics, and robotics technologies.

Beginners Are Welcome

Every expert was once a novice. Encourage learners who are blinking their first LED or asking basic wiring questions.

Practical Building Over Theory

We prioritize real-world hardware, reproducible code, bench testing, and tangible projects built for Rwanda.

2. Constructive Technical Discourse

  • Provide Context: When asking for troubleshooting help, share your schematic, code snippets, microcontroller model, power supply details, and measured voltage levels.
  • Respectful Critique: Offer constructive technical suggestions. Critique designs and code, never individuals.
  • Truthful Progress: Clearly distinguish working prototypes from conceptual proposals. Honesty strengthens community credibility.

3. Anti-Spam & Promotion Rules

To protect the community from commercial noise and abuse:

  • Link Caps: For new members, posts and replies may contain at most 3 external links.
  • Zero Tolerance for Scams: Cryptocurrency giveaways, casino promotions, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited marketing will result in immediate permanent account suspension.
  • Relevant Hardware Only: Discussions must stay focused on IoT, electronics, robotics, firmware, automation, and related engineering disciplines.

4. Reporting & Moderation Workflow

Every member has tools to protect community safety:

How to Report:

Click the Flag / Report icon on any discussion topic or reply to submit an abuse report directly to our organizing team. Reports are reviewed in an auditable moderation queue.

Moderation Outcomes:

Depending on severity, moderators may issue private guidance, remove inappropriate content, lock or archive discussions, or suspend repeat offenders.

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, contact our organizers at moderation@iotroboticsrwanda.org.
